Operating from Montreuil, France, and a long-time collaborator of Vox Populi Records, Tim Karbon produces a strongly percussive music inspired by esoteric aesthetics from the likes of Randomer and Muslimgauze as well as his experience as a seasoned drummer in several wide-ranging bands.
Drawing from techno and other adventurous rhythm-based musical traditions, "Basement Island" is an accomplished collection of four drum-oriented tracks that were composed as a tale of a dreamed club, located somewhere in a dystopian water land.
This debut EP sees Tim Karbon developping his own musical identity, using his own voice as a raw sample material on « Dive Deeper » as well as dealing with a large set of home-recorded percussions and strange sound design.
Tim Karbon's "Basement Island" EP is the second piece to be released through MAÂT, a collective platform founded in 2017 by La Syncope (SEML), SSCK (Mawimbi) and Tim Karbon.
